ChatGPT is a hot topic today. Just tell it to write a piece of code, and it will do that elegantly (at least from the first look at it)!

I tried it. It amazed me. Not only it can chat and code, but also explain the detail! It became my first go-to before even using Google or StackOverflow.

ChatGPT seems able to do what developers do

As it seems so good, naturally we start asking ourselves, has AI finally caught up with automating programming? Is this the beginning of programming becoming obsolete?

There are some valid points contributing to such concerns, as ChatGPT can do the followings.

  1. Can be instructed to generate code for almost anything. e.g. Write a program making a calculator.
  2. Can generate a code based on a given set of pseudocode-like instructions.
  3. Can enhance a code further when being instructed, e.g. Add clickable button, once click will ….

On top of that, it can also use for corrective action such as

  1. Can be used to check for an error in code, and recommend fixes
