The “Black Sheep” of America
People will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character
It has been many years since I last visited the US as a tourist. The opportunity to step into the Land of Liberty makes one feel special. I cherish the opportunity given.
However, this trip of mine was hampered by a horrible experience. It was on the first day I landed in Los Angeles when I spent my day time supposing one of the most popular tourist beaches there, Santa Monica.
I was walking into the Santa Monica Yacht Habour. Many people are walking around the area. Some people are giving away promotional cards, and handing them over to the bypasser, saying “It’s free”.
The people who gave them away are mostly black Americans from the look of it. I was given one, and I felt obliged to just take it when one was offered, especially from this group of people, at least I feel obliged to show some courtesy to understand what they want to promote.
Then something happened that gave me a really bad taste of America as a tourist….
