Hi Jeff, thanks for your comment. The fact you have learned 15+ languages shows that you have evolve and improve yourself through the years. Great one. Imagine if you would have stayed in Fortran and Pascal, I doubt you’ll still be doing much programming today.
Having said this, it is no longer just knowing a programming language, but also the toolchain that makes one succeed as a developer these days. We have gone through the days of a single machine, to parallel machines and virtual machines, and now cloud computing environment. This knowledge and skill set are required too for one to thrive in development.
It has changed, but I’m sure there are some who evolve well along it and get adapt to the change, no longer feel that as change. Change is the only constant, when you see the trend, it becomes like a constant.
