I agree with you that codes don’t just change because there’s a new feature introduced in an IDE. But if all IDE has those capabilities, and becomes a common expected what an IDE will do, codes will evolve toward it.

One simple example is, today we can code is much smaller function, and objects, and deeper hierarchy, is because IDEs allow us to traverse code much easier. Without IDE, I doubt we can build as big a software as one can do today, and as productive.
